Carthaginian Thureophoroi

After a while the good citizens of Carthage didn't want to fight as hoplites any more. Instead they started fighting as Thureophoroi (or something similar). As usual they are from Crusader.

Right now Weird World War seems to be very popular. I can only say: Bring on the Zombies! But first some Germans. They were very funny to paint so I get more to paint! These Germans are 40mm and from Graven Images.

Disturbia

Graven Images (which is distributed by Monolith) has a very nice range called Disturbia. Here is a few of their miniatures from a sub-range called "Torture Garden". I like them, they were really fun to paint. They are 40mm high from toe to eye.

This is Mistress Lorna

and this is a gimp rider and her friend Mistress Sonia.

But now I have to go back to my Mistress, she is calling.

Libyan Mercenary Hoplites

Thracian DBA Army

This is my Thracian DBA army (I/48). I used Xyston figures. It was actually the first 15mm army I painted, it was great fun. The Thracian army have one cavalry (the general), six auxilia and two psilois. They can also have three light horse or auxilia or any combination of it.

This is the general and his retinue. They are heavily armed and hellenized cavalry from the south of Thracia.

These men are, like their chiefs, heavily hellenized. They are lowland thracians from the south.

Here are the warriors. They are though hill-men looking for trouble.

These men are the armies skirmishers.

Celt-Iberian Command

Here is the first of my new Celt-Iberians. It's the boss and his pals.

The Carthaginians are coming

Over the next few weeks I will show you my Carthaginian army. The whole army isn't painted yet, but hopefully it will be in Januari. The figures are from Crusader and the shields are handpainted (but inspired by Little Big Man Studio).

First out is Carthaginian Citizen Sacred Band. They fought as hoplites. They were used up to around 300 BC and are therefore techically not a part of my Late Carthagianian army. But I like them so I will start with them.

15mm Dip

I have tried to use the Dip on 15mm. Every figure toke 10 minutes to paint, very fast for me.

Saturday, June 23, 2007

What have I been up to lately?

I have tried out painting using the Dip method. It is very easy and fast. You can actually finish a figure in 15-20 minutes! The results are maybe not the best ever, but they are ok.

The Norman armyboxes

So how am I going to transport my new Norman army? Easy, just using these two boxes.
