Knights

I painted up some Knights for the 100 years war. They are from Perry.

Finally Done

My Norman army is finally done. This is the last Knights I needed to paint and base. Maybe I will add more to this army in the future, maybe not.

Pantodapoi

When basing the Argyraspides, I really get the urge to paint some pikemen. So after looking around I decided I wanted to paint a Persian pikemen (Pantodapoi), perfect for a successor army. All in his unit will have the same uniform, except for the trousers; I would hate to paint 32 pants like that. I haven't painted the shield yet, but it will be like the one in the Alexander Osprey book (H2).

Basing Pikemen

Here is some newly based old figures. They are based on a 40x80 base. Two of them together and they count as a front rank with support. They are suppose to be Argyraspides, equipt for Alexander's Indian campaign or later.

Jesus lives!

Today I painted my first shield with a figure, I think it's Jesus or some kind of Saint. It was mighty fun to paint him. I will paint more in this unit.

Some Assyrians

I'm not to happy painting 15mm (except for Xyston), so I painted these Middle Assyrians from Essex with the Dip. They are not that nice looking, but its a fast way to make them ugly. So why do I paint them? Because I will need a Biblical army next week-end.

The last to arrive

The last of the troops to arrive to make the army battle-ready is the Libyan mercenary cavalry. If I paint a Numidian army they can also double as General for them. I will of course continue painting more for this army. I will need more of eveything; more Light Horse, Cavalry, Spear, Auxilia, Psiloi, Elephants and Warbands. You always need more elephants. And I'm also painting Hannibals veterans.

What will the next army be? Hard to say, but Crusader Miniatures will soon release Successor pikemen, hoplites and thureophoroi. I love that. Maybe I will paint it as Molon's army (the renegade Seleucid satrap of Media). The army will be very colourful, the cloth and armour will be inspired by the Persians. This really gives me a hard-on.

The elephants have arrived!

Here is the first Carthaginian elephant. He's from A&A Miniatures and is pretty cool. I would recommend everyone to buy an elephant and paint it.

Carthaginian Thureophoroi

After a while the good citizens of Carthage didn't want to fight as hoplites any more. Instead they started fighting as Thureophoroi (or something similar). As usual they are from Crusader.
