A wargamers closet

Now I have a wargames/computer closet! Pretty cool isn’t it? (Or is it just sad?) Well, it’s my closet so I do whatever I want with it (I hope my girlfriend don’t read this). It isn't really done yet, but soon I can start painting again.

In the upper part I have painted figures and in the bottom I will have paint, keyboard and stuff. I hope my figures won't weight to much.

Well, now I have to go back to be sick again (I have a terrible cold).

Bloodcon VII

Yesterday was Bloodcon VII in Uppsala. It was a great tournament, I had a great time. I ended up somewhere in the bottom, but that was ok. Chris from the club ended up with the bronze and Rickard's army was the most inspiring, a well deserved victory. I brought my Late Achaemenid Persians and the Chariot of Doom (mostly his own doom).

The first game was against Oskar and his Pre-islam Arabs. He had a lot of dunes and camels, I lost with 12-0. Even through it was a bad start of the tournament I enjoyed myself greatly and I did actually enjoy it so much that I forget to take any pictures fro m the game. Sorry Oskar.

The second game was against my old friend Rickard and his medieval Finns. Somehow I did actually manage to win; the reason could be because he didn't feel well.

After two games it was time for lunch, pizza of course. One loss and one win is not that bad for me. During lunch break everyone could look at each others armies.

After lunch there were three more games. The first game was against Tony and his Polish knights. They just rode over me. It was a great game and Tony was great fun to play against.



Next game was against Simon and his Italians. Once again it was a blast and a loss. I thought I had him, but my center decided to attack at the wrong moment (note to myself: be patient and if it looks to good it is to good). I was trying to it his right flank, but he totally destroyed my center.


The last game was actually a win! Now I'm finally starting to figure out how to use my Persians. I suppose that means it's time to get a new army! Did I tell you it was a great funny game? It was hilarious, it could have gone either way!


There were a lot of nice Barker Markers. This one was maybe the nicest. It's from Hasslefree Miniatures, I must get me a nice one too!

So all in all, it was very nice. Thanks Nils and everyone else for the great event!

Back in business!

I'm back, I have found my login name and password! What's new? Nothing much. Next weekend there will be a tournament in Uppsala. My goal is not to end last.

Libya civil war

My and some friends came together and played some games of DBA. The project was that everyone would make a Libyan I/7b army. The day was exciting and I finished second out of five! Here are some pictures from the day. The first game was against Rickard. He was unlucky and his general was the first casualty of the day.

What happened? The general has disappeared from picture 2 to 3. He is dead, killed by a lone bowman.











The next game was against Jens. I led with 3-0 and only had to kill one more, instead he won with 4-3, bugger!















The third game was against Chris, our local champ. After a hard fight I did actually win!














So I had a very nice day of DBA playing and pizza eating!

This was a fun silly idea. I hope that we will do something like this again soon. I want to do "The conquest of Vinland", including Vikings, Eskimos, Indians, Mould Builders and Welsh.

15mm Libyans

As if I don't have enought unfinished projects I started a new one. This is the first of my Early Libyan DBA army (I/7b). It's one warband, two skirmishers and two bows.

Well, the Swedes are ready for battle! On the right is the Närke-Värmlands regiment and on the left is the Elfsborg regiment. I really like them, I can't wait for more!

My Persian DBA army are almost done now. I have only the General left to paint.

No more Swedes today

I had hoped to have the rest of the Swedes done today, but no. Instead here are some pictures from a concert last night. The photos sucks big time, but it is Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb. They were pretty cool, especially Nitzer Ebb who ruled big time!

Today Musiketeer Miniatures new Great Northern War Swedes arrived. I got excited and started to paint them right away. The one on the right is from the Närke-Värmlands regemente, while the one on the left is from the Björneborg regemente. I haven't based them yet, but it will be the standard basing that can be seen on other figures.

Well, I wasn't to happy with the Takabara shields. So after looking at Little Big Men Studios new transfer I got "inspired" to paint mine. Thanks LBMS!

Aitolian army

Here is one more DBA army, this time it's a Aitolian (II/5e) army. In the front are a lot of skirmishers and behind them a small phalanx. In the back are some light cavalry.

Persian Guard infantry

Long time since the last up-date. During October I have been painting an Aitolian DBA army and now I have started on a Late Achaemenid Persian DBA army. This is the first two stands, Persian Guard infantry. Don't forget to look at the trousers on the right stand, they were a real pain to paint. The figures are from Xyston.
